Opposite Ends of the Spectrum

Picture morning rush hour--the long, slow moving lines of cars, the annoyed drivers, the talk radio show with the really annoying woman on it. Ok? Now, picture the obnoxious driver who feels the need to swerve around crazily in an attempt to pass one car at a time. WHY? Seriously, how much time could that person possibly save each morning? Why go through all the aggravation just to get to work 2 minutes earlier? And the thing is, most of the time, others around this driver are so annoyed that they go OUT OF THEIR WAY just to screw him/her over, so Crazy Driver probably isn't even getting to work a full 2 minutes earlier. Is this person's job really that much more exciting than mine that he/she cannot bear to be away from work for the extra 100 seconds?

Of course, on the flip side of the coin are the people who drive the mopeds. Ok, I get that gas is expensive and that it's nice and warm outside and these two things combined together create ideal moped-riding conditions. And it's great that these people are willing to take it slow and enjoy the scenery. But. After you spend about 10 minutes being stuck behind a moped moving at 30 miles per hour and you FINALLY see a big enough break in traffic for you to pass them, and then at the very next stop light, the moped squeezes up between the two lanes and gets back in front of you? Yeah, there are no words to adequately express how much I just want to reach out and SMACK the rider on the back of his helmet-less head. NO. WORDS.
